Better Investment Better Future -- SDIC Holds Press Conference on Corporate Culture and Brand in Beijing

SDIC held a press conference on corporate culture and brand on October 22, 2021 in Beijing. SDIC Chairman Bai Tao delivered a speech and unveiled the brand logo. SDIC Board Member and General Manager Wang Haibo, SDIC Chief Accountant Li Ruge, SDIC Deputy General Manager Du Wenmin, SDIC Deputy General Manager Yang Xiaohui, and Hu Changyuan, Head of SDIC Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office, attended the conference. Zhang Xiaohong, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Sci-Tech Innovation and Social Responsibility, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, delivered a speech at the conference. Dong Guanpeng, Vice President of China Public Relations Association and Professor from Communication University of China, also attended the conference. SDIC Spokesman Liu Yanghe interpreted the SDIC corporate culture and brand concept at the conference.

In his speech, Chairman Bai pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping (of the CPC Central Committee) has on many occasions emphasized cultural self-confidence and paid high attention to brand building of State-owned enterprises. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council have set out clear goals and tasks for developing a strong culture in China and brand building of State-owned enterprises. It is a must for an enterprise to cultivate an excellent corporate culture if the enterprise is determined to develop further, make breakthroughs and stride forward. The cultivation of the SDIC corporate culture in the new era, on the one hand, needs inheritance, and on the other hand, embodies innovation to highlight the common pursuit of the value of the SDIC people through its corporate culture and create a strong and new driving force for the new long march of the “New SDIC”.

Bai pointed out that brand has become a most valuable, core competitive factor for modern enterprises. A “national team” in the sector of capital investment, SDIC considers it not only the call of the new normal, new pattern and getting ready for new development, but also the need of development to raise brand awareness, strengthen brand building, improve professional management and be devoted to building SDIC into a world first class brand.

Bai said that since its establishment 26 years ago, SDIC always adheres to the principle of serving the national strategy and has been making constant efforts in exploring a development pattern for a State-owned capital investment company. In the new era and at the new starting point, SDIC has chosen to draft a new development blueprint, start a new journey and pursue a new dream. SDIC believes that the new era calls for a new pattern, the new vision inspires a new future and the new strategy matches a new concept. It is the responsibility and the mission of the SDIC people to inherit and develop well the good genes of spirit which has been accumulated through the development of SDIC, and build and demonstrate well the brand of SDIC in the new era. This is a strong force driving the implementation of its strategy and promoting its high quality business development. This is also the important means to generate new development dynamic and spur new vitality for high quality growth.

Bai said that he hopes promotion of corporate culture and brand building make achievements in the following three areas: First, the value model of “honoring commitment and taking practical actions” with the characteristics of State-owned capital investment company should be actively explored and practised through the integrating and building of corporate brand; Second, to cultivate the value concept and action conduct, and brand tagline and brand commitment recognized and abode by all SDIC people with the building, spreading and managing of cultural brand as the focal point; and Third, to build an integrated brand with the parent company culture as the core and cultures of subsidiary companies as extension of the core.

Bai pointed out that today's corporate culture and brand press conference marks a new start, a commitment to the society and a call for the SDIC people, which requires all the SDIC people to devote themselves to the commitment and work hard to develop SDIC into a world first class company with the assistance of its advanced corporate culture and brand.

After his speech, Bai announced the official launch of SDIC's new brand logo.

SDIC Spokesman Liu Yanghe introduced to the audience about the background and achievements of SDIC's corporate culture and brand upgrading project and interpreted SDIC's vision, mission, core value and investment philosophy. With the broadcast of a video on SDIC's new brand logo and brand image, Liu vividly interpreted what has changed and what remains unchanged in the company's brand logo and brand image, the all new brand positioning, brand tagline and brand commitment. The press conference, on the one hand, reflected the inheritance and innovation spirit of the whole SDIC people, and, on the other hand, also demonstrated that the SDIC people would embrace changes with an open mind, rise up to the mission and build a better future through investment.

In his comment, Dong Guanpeng pointed out that this conference has unveiled an extraordinary, unparalleled and expectable “New SDIC”. First, a “New SDIC” to honor its commitment and take practical actions. The all new corporate culture and brand system perfectly matches SDIC's comprehensive strength, position and contributions. Second, a “New SDIC” to pursue its long term commitment. The development of SDIC is a process of continuous improvement and upgrading. The optimization of brand logo reflects SDIC's corporate culture value, entrepreneurship and potential of brand value appreciation and demonstrates its merits of inheritance and development and the philosophy of doing jobs well. Third, a “New SDIC” with all staff united as one. In the process of the all new corporate culture and brand building, opinions, advises and suggestions were solicited from the staff and partners and the all new corporate culture and brand is the common results recognized by all people. Fourth, a “New SDIC” with unlimited potentials. A leader, creator and investor, SDIC regards better future as an important factor of its corporate culture and brand, which enlightens all.

Zhang Xiaohong sent her congratulations on behalf of the Bureau of Sci-Tech Innovation and Social Responsibility, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, to the success of the event. She shared her views on brand building of State-owned enterprises in the following three areas: First, the new era calls for accelerated growth of outstanding brands in China. In the new journey of building a modern socialist country in all aspects, Chinese leading enterprises urgently need to strengthen their brand building and build a group of world first class brands. Second, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission actively deploys and accelerates the promotion of brand building of the central SOEs. Since the 18th National Congress of the Party, the central SOEs go all out to promote the work of brand building and make important contributions to the recognition of made-in-China, built-by-China and services-provided-by-China brand by global enterprises and consumers. Third, SDIC has made great achievements in its brand building. The Party Leading Group of SDIC pays high attention to the work of brand building, promotes brand building, and explores the construction of group management system for the corporate culture and brand of a State-owned capital investment company, which has substantially improved the brand awareness, reputation and influence of SDIC. Zhang expressed her hope that SDIC makes constant efforts to promote its brand building and build SDIC into a “name card of the country” with global competitiveness, representing the image of China and embodying the Chinese spirit.

Before the press conference, a video of SDIC in 24 Hours was broadcast, demonstrating what the SDIC people do on each of the every ordinary but hard working day.

CCTV (China Central Television) broadcast live the whole press conference. Senior executives and representatives of all SDIC departments and subsidiary companies in Beijing and representatives from SDIC member enterprises attended the conference at the main venue or watched the live broadcast at parallel venues.
